And folks, just for the record, these Wild Peppers are called several different names in this area. They are referred to as Pequins, Piquins, Tepins, Petins, Wild Peppers, Bird Peppers, or Chile Del Monte. I personally call them Pequins. But they are the VERY HOT and flavorful “Wild” ones. They can be round or oval. But let their be no mistake, they are the ones growing in the wild and spread by the birds, especially the Texas State Bird- the Mockingbird.
